It is with sadness that we write about Rajeev Motwani’s untimely passing. He was Plusmo’s first advisor and helped us shape our business and raise funds. He was always willing to offer great advice and was only an email or a call away.

Silicon Valley has lost one of its best minds. We offer our deepest condolences to his family.

We are still on a high after our victory at the Nokia Hackathon, and now we’d like to share some details about the App that won it for us. The App is called Rocket and it allows you to easily keep in touch with and track your friends, in addition to making it easy to find new friends. During the intense 24 hour hackathon, Plusmo’s engineers created a compelling mobile social networking application. You’ll find Rocket in the Ovi store soon, but for now enjoy these screens:

This week two engineers from Plusmo are attending the Nokia Hackathon in Monaco. Plusmo was honored to be selected to compete with some of the best mobile developers in the world at the Hackathon, and we hope to produce an exciting and innovative NSeries mobile application during the 24 hour marathon hacking session. As a huge fan of Major League Baseball (and my beloved Mets), I am proud to announce the re-launch of Plusmo Pro Baseball Live for iPhone and Android devices. As usual, Plusmo Pro Baseball Live keeps you up to date with live play-by-play from all MLB games and the latest standings and news. Plusmo Pro Baseball Live also allows you to track your favorite teams and has a host of exciting new social features, such as team and game chat and ‘Pick Em’, where users can vote on their picks for the winners of each game. Users can access Pro Baseball Live’s social features by using their Facebook, Google, or Plusmo accounts.

Pick up Pro Baseball Live for iPhone from the iTunes Store or for Android through the Android Market.

At Plusmo we are all proud of our sports widgets, but we are always happy to receive positive reviews from our users. Om Malik at GigaOM is apparently one of our more famous users, and we are delighted to hear that Cricinfo Mobicast is part of his daily play life. We appreciate the support, and Om and all of our users can expect us to continually provide the best mobile sports experience on iPhone, Android, Palm Pre, or whatever their mobile device of choice is.

Our last blog post mentioned that a brand new version of the Plusmo client for J2ME and Blackberry was coming soon. Well, it is here, so head over to plusmo.com to grab it. We’ve been working on many things lately at Plusmo, including a brand new web site design and exciting new sports applications for iPhone, Android, and S60. We’ve also been working on a brand new release of the Plusmo client for J2ME and Blackberry mobile devices. Plusmo 4.0 will have optimized performance, better graphics and an improved user experience, amongst many other exciting features.
