During the RCS Experience Brazil 2026 webinar, experts from Google and several ecosystem partners showcased how RCS Business Messaging is transforming traditional messaging into more interactive, seamless, and efficient experiences for customer engagement, customer service, and sales.
Speakers explored the evolution of rich business messaging and introduced new initiatives designed to integrate the channel with services such as Google Search, Google Ads, Google Maps, and Gemini.
This protocol is enabling a new dimension of conversational experiences by delivering richer, more dynamic messages that provide app-like functionality without requiring users to download an application.
Google presented a vision of Rich Communication Services deeply integrated with search, advertising, and artificial intelligence, aimed at transforming how companies generate demand, engage with customers, and build omnichannel strategies.
Throughout the event, it became clear that RCS is entering a new stage of maturity and should no longer be viewed simply as the next evolution of SMS. Google positioned it as a complete conversational channel capable of combining messaging, multimedia content, automation, artificial intelligence, and interactive experiences within a single conversation.
Speakers also emphasized that the value of RCS goes beyond visually rich messages. Its true strength lies in enabling two-way interactions. This is particularly relevant for customer support, promotional campaigns, cart recovery, onboarding processes, authentication, transactional notifications, and AI-powered conversational assistants.
A central theme of the discussion was that brands can move beyond one-way communications and create experiences where users can ask questions, receive recommendations, and complete multiple processes without leaving the conversation.
Artificial intelligence was highlighted as an increasingly important component of RCS conversations, helping answer questions, guide users, and support commercial processes. The combination of AI and messaging is expected to enable more personalized and scalable customer experiences.
One of the most significant strategic announcements was the growing integration of RCS within the Google ecosystem. The company unveiled several initiatives designed to connect RCS with key touchpoints across Google Search, Google Maps, Google Ads, Gemini, and Android.
The goal is to allow users to initiate conversations with businesses directly from a search result, advertisement, or business profile, reducing friction and creating new entry points for customer engagement and sales.
Another major development involved new RCS "entry points." Google demonstrated how certain customer service-related searches or purchase-intent queries can offer users the option to start a conversation directly from search results. This creates new opportunities to convert searches into conversational interactions and potential business opportunities.
Google also announced the integration of RCS into Message Ads, an initiative designed to combine advertising and messaging. Currently in pilot phase, Message Ads enable users to start conversations directly from Google Search ads, supporting lead generation, customer service, and sales activities.
While multiple success stories were shared during the webinar, presenters stressed that results are not automatic. Companies were encouraged to continuously optimize key metrics such as read rates, engagement rates, conversion rates, cost per interaction, cost per acquisition, and return on advertising spend (ROAS). The importance of A/B testing and user-centric experience design was also highlighted.
Ultimately, Google is not positioning RCS Business Messaging as a replacement for existing communication channels. Instead, it is being presented as part of broader omnichannel strategies, working alongside other messaging, customer service, and marketing platforms to expand customer touchpoints and create new engagement opportunities.
