Madrid, Sep 19 (EFE) - The Latin American telecommunications aggregator Plusmo has launched its operations in Spain in collaboration with Telefónica and Orange, aiming to strengthen services related to enriched messaging (known by the English acronym RCS) and mobile identification.
"This aggregator was founded in Argentina 25 years ago, beginning with the first text message and continuing with subsequent technology. We are partners with carriers to bring added value to companies," explained Gabriel Chapt, CEO of the company, this Thursday at the Wholesale World Congress (WWC).
After starting in Argentina and expanding to other countries in the region, such as Chile, Uruguay, and Peru, Plusmo recently began its operations in Europe, with Spain and France as the initial launch locations.
Chapt highlighted that the business model is based on positioning the company between telecom operators and businesses or media agencies to develop solutions that allow these telecom companies to reach their customers.
One of the main lines of business will focus on RCS messaging, a service offering more functions than traditional text messages by enabling features like photo carousels and enhanced security to prevent potential fraud. This service is aimed at businesses as a potential substitute for other messaging applications like WhatsApp Business.
Another business area for this aggregator will be solutions related to mobile identity. EFE
